LSC MALTA ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The LSC Malta Annual General Meeting was held at the club in Mosta
on Monday 14th July, 2008. Details as follows:
The AGM started at 8:00pm when club Secretary Steve Sciberras
welcomed the members present. Steve also read the minutes from
last year's AGM.
The AGM proceeded when Steve outlined the work carried out by the
committee during the past twelve months, whilst treasurer Brian
Tanti was next with the annual financial report.
Brian confirmed the steady financial progress that the club had
registered in the past few years was maintained.
Outgoing club chairman Ronnie Camilleri announed that this was his
last activity in which he was participating as the club's top
official. Due to work reasons, Ronnie announced he was stepping
down as chairman and in a short speech claimed his satisfaction at
what the club had achieved during the 5 years he was at the helm.
Ronnie thanked all those - past and present - who had or are still
involved and helped in the running of the club, whilst receiving a
warm applause from all present.
Another thank-you note was reserved for Chris and Jason who had
taken care of the club bar for the past few seasons.
On another note, Steve announed that the method by which the club
obtained match tickets had changed, so he asked members to bear
with him until the new system comes into place.
Other anouncements made during the AGM were:
* Life membership put up to €280 from €233 (approved by the
members present)
* Life family membership no longer available as a membership
option
* Winning lottery ticket (entitled to a free place on a tour
organised by the LSC Malta): 003188
(see ticket here)
No election was done because Ronnie Camillieri and Matthew Pace
did not throw their nomination and only one new nomination (from
Joe Attard) was handed in. So the new committee for the coming
year will consist of the following:
Jimmy Mallia
George Vassallo
Mark Caruana
Peter Turner
Brian Tanti
Steve Sciberras
James Vella
Charlie Farrugia
Lawrence Briffa
Joe Attard
The AGM ended at around 9:15pm
