Kenny Dalglish won 9 League Championship medals (record) - 8 for Liverpool (5 as a
player 1979-80-82-83-84; 3 as player-manager 1986-88-90) and 1 for Blackburn (as manager
in 1995). As a player he also won 4 Scottish Championship medals with Celtic
(1972-73-74-77).


Phil Neal and Alan
Hansen both won 8 League Championship medals, respectively as follows:
1976-77-79-80-82-83-84-86 and 1979-80-82-83-84-86-88-90.


The Reds' were
unbeaten in the first 29 matches of the 1987-88 season, winning 22,
drawing 7, scoring 67 goals and conceding just 13. Liverpool's feat
equalled that of Leeds, who were unbeaten in the first 29 matches of the
1973-74 season (19 wins, 10 draws).


Liverpool hold the
record for the longest run of home wins in the top division. The Reds
won 21 consecutive matches including the last nine matches of the
1971-72 season and the first 12 of the 1972-73 season.


Only two clubs have
completed an English League season unbeaten: Preston North End (22
matches in 1888-89, the first ever season) and Liverpool (28 matches in
1893-94, Division 2).


Liverpool are one of
only five clubs to have won every home League match in a season.
Liverpool's achievement occurred in the 1893-94 season, when the Reds
won all 14 matches at Anfield.


Phil Neal made 366
consecutive First Division appearances for Liverpool between December
1974 and September 1983.


Liverpool won the FA
Cup in 1986 with a non-English XI.


Bruce Grobbelaar,
Steve Nicol and Ian Rush have all won 3 FA Cup winners medals for
Liverpool.


Ian Callaghan is the
player with most FA Cup appearances (88, 79 for Liverpool, 7 for Swansea
and 2 for Crewe). John Barnes is in second place having played 87 FA Cup
matches (31 for Watford, 51 for Liverpool and 5 for Newcastle).


Willie Fagan appeared
in FA Cup final teams before AND after the war: 1937 for Preston North
End and 1950 for Liverpool. Sadly for Fagan, he was on the losing side
on both occasions.


Ian Rush and Geoff
Hurst share the record of most League Cup goals scored, 49. Rush scored
48 for the Reds and 1 goal for Newcastle in career that spanned from
1981 to 1998.


Ian Rush is the winner
of most League Cup winners medals with five.


Kenny Dalglish and Ian
Rush have each featured in six League Cup finals (a record).


Ian Rush became the first player to feature in 8 winning teams in Cup finals at
Wembley, all with Liverpool (FA Cup 1986-88-92; League Cup 81-82-83-84-95).
